Even with the hectic nature of the previous year, 2021 has seen plenty of great indie hits release and become our favorites. Though the future may be uncertain, especially with a global economic recession due to a pandemic, we can’t help but look forward to the best that 2022 will have on offer. And what better way to start the year than to talk about the indie games we’re looking forward to?

Undertale’s parallel story in which players can dodge bullets in nonviolent RPG battles, listen to funky music and meet new and old characters in a tale that steps closer to its end, chapter by chapter.
The Outbreak Story – Demo review here.
The Outbreak Story is a supernatural platformer, revolving around Noah’s recruitment into the Special Paranormal Defence Forces (SPDF) to fight off the malignant wraiths and find out the circumstances around his father’s mysterious death – who was another SPDF agent.

Ghost on the Shore – Demo review here.
Ghost on the Shore is a narrative-focused exploration game with strong themes of relationships and death. Players take on the role of Riley, stranded on a deserted and desolate island with only a long-dead ghost named Josh for company.
Martha is Dead
From the creators of The Town of Light, Martha Is Dead is a dark first-person psychological thriller, set in 1944 Italy, that blurs the lines between reality, superstition and the tragedy of war.
A Space for the Unbound – Prologue review here.
A Space for the Unbound is a slice-of-life adventure set in rural Indonesia in the late 1990s. It tells a story about overcoming anxiety, depression, and the relationship between a boy and a girl with supernatural powers, such as the ability to ‘space dive’ into people minds and hearts, Inception-style.
Freud’s Bones – Demo review here.
Set in Vienna in 1925, Freud’s Bones is a narrative-driven, point-and-click game that pays homage to the birth of Psychoanalysis and its founder, Sigmund Freud.
Although the above games are the ones we’re looking forward to, they are only a small set of games slated for release in the future.
