2019 Summer Games Done Quick

Summer Games Done Quick kicked off this past Sunday, June 23, 2019 for its ninth year in a row. The charity fundraising marathon is streamed live while players, or speedrunners, show off their ability to speedrun a game. Many of the speedruns utilize glitches and involve an in-depth discussion on ways to shave off time. I was able to catch Castlevania: Symphony of the Night being done and was not disappointed.

The organization has primarily given to the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders, raising over $6.5 million dollars during the summer sessions only. All funds go to the charity. Participants catching the stream can encourage speedrunners to take more difficult challenges and/or win prizes. The event will continue until Sunday, June 30, and the next stream is going on now! Be sure to check the schedule, and  if you missed any previous days, the videos are on the Games Done Quick twitch. Check out the Slipstream run and then read our review of it! The same goes for our review of Castlevania which will be streamed today!
